The Delaware County Emergency Management Agency is finalizing its Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan before submission to the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Department and the Federal Emergency Management Agency for review and approval.

The plan evaluates the risks and vulnerabilities associated with natural and human-caused hazards that may affect Delaware County, participating cities, and participating school districts. It also identifies mitigation actions intended to reduce risk, strengthen community resilience, and protect lives, property, infrastructure, agriculture, natural resources, and community assets.

The draft Delaware County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan is available for public and partner review. The planning area includes unincorporated Delaware County; the cities of Colesburg, Delaware, Delhi, Dundee, Earlville, Edgewood, Greeley, Hopkinton, Manchester, Masonville, and Ryan; and the Edgewood-Colesburg Community School District, Maquoketa Valley Community School District, West Delaware County Community School District, and St. Mary’s School.

For those that may travel to Manchester today…

🚨TRAFFIC ALERT – HIGHWAY 20 DETOUR

Please be prepared for a detour on Highway 20 beginning around noon today. The Iowa State Patrol will be closing a portion of Highway 20 between the Bailey Drive exit (Exit 277) and the Highway 13 exit (Exit 275) while Alliant Energy makes repairs to a downed power line caused by the storm.

The closure is expected to last no more than one hour.

Please use caution in the area, follow posted detours, and allow extra travel time. We will share additional information as it becomes available.
