Big News for Delia! 💧

The City of Delia has been awarded $1.7M in funding to support improvements to our drinking water system.

This investment will allow for a new water tower, new water lines, and updated water meters—critical upgrades that will strengthen our infrastructure and reliability for years to come.

Projects like this not only improve service for current residents, but also help position Delia for future growth and encourage new families to call our community home.

We look forward to sharing more updates as this project moves forward.

Spring has entered the chat!

Couple things as we thaw out:

🗑️ Secure anything lightweight—trash cans, patio furniture, trampolines… maybe even your husband if he’s planning to sit outside and “watch the storm” 😅
🚗 Drive like your neighbor’s kid lives here (because they do)
🐶 Friendly reminder: if it’s your dog… it’s your responsibility
🔥 Spring evenings = fire pit season—be mindful of wind and keep it safe (let’s not burn down the neighborhood)

There’s just something about this time of year in Delia… when the air finally warms up and life moves back outside.

Kids lined up along the fence, bikes scattered in the yards, doors open, and neighbors drifting from porch to porch like it’s second nature. No schedules, no rush—just the sound of laughter, gravel under tires, and someone always yelling “be home before dark.”

Summers here feel like something out of Mayberry. Simple, close-knit, and the kind of place where everyone keeps an eye out for each other—and every kid feels like everyone’s kid.

This little town may be small, but the way we live in it is something special. 🤍

We have already had some reports of frozen pipes. With extremely cold temperatures, frozen pipes can happen quickly. Taking a few simple precautions now can help prevent costly damage later.

• Let faucets drip slightly, especially overnight
• Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate
• Keep your thermostat set consistently, day and night
• Insulate exposed pipes in basements, crawl spaces, and garages
• Seal cracks or openings where cold air can enter near pipes
• Disconnect and drain outdoor hoses

If you will be away from home, do not turn the heat off. Keep it set no lower than 55 degrees.

Please stay warm and safe. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to contact the City of Delia.
