It is with great sadness we announce the passing of life member and past fire police Captain Chester (Chet) Boehlke. Chet dedicated over 30yrs to the Slingerlands Fire Department, the residents of the Town of Bethlehem and New Scotland. Chet will be greatly missed. Please keep Chet's family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Delaware Avenue is closed from Longmeadow Dr. to Meads Lane for an extended period of time due to an early morning accident. 

Please do not move the barricades or drive around them for your convenience. They are there for the safety of the fire department, police officers and EMTs on scene.

The Delmar Fire Department honors the life of Carol Stricos, beloved wife of Life Member and Past President Tom Stricos. Carol’s joy, energy, and unmistakable zest for life lifted every room she entered.

As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the beautiful moments she shared with all of us—especially the recent days in Lake George, filled with laughter, sunshine, and memories that will continue to brighten our hearts.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Tom, Lauren, Brian, and all who loved Carol. May her spirit continue to inspire us.

On behalf of The Slingerlands Fire Department, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, I am pleased to invite you to support our Annual Tournament. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, September 26th at Sycamore Country Club. Proceeds from this event will fund The Slingerlands Fire Department Community Outreach Programs.

Why your support matters:
Your sponsorship helps us provide support to the members of our community throughout the year as well to enhance the experience for our Fire Fighters. In addition to hosting various community events, we are looking to offer support to our volunteers for their physical and mental wellbeing.

As a 501(c)(3) organization, contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. A receipt acknowledging your donation will be provided.
