Zoning Update Public Hearing Clarification

The Town Board has NOT scheduled a public hearing on the proposed zoning update as was recently incorrectly reported in news outlets and on social media.

The Board is awaiting an updated draft that will address recently enacted changes to New York State's SEQR regulations before determining next steps.

The zoning update remains under review and no final decisions have been made. Check back later for more information, we will be posting updates throughout the process.

A wonderful start to Pride Month in Bethlehem. We are proud to support a community where everyone feels welcome, valued, and celebrated. 🌈 Thank you to all who joined in kicking off Pride Month in Bethlehem!

We had a great community gathering to launch Pride Month in Bethlehem. With the Progressive Pride flag flying at Town Hall, a rainbow crosswalk on Adams St in Delmar, and the Bethlehem Pride Festival coming on June 20, it’s clear that Bethlehem is a welcoming community where LGBTQ+ individuals and allies are embraced, celebrated, and empowered to live authentically. Thanks to Bethlehem Pride and We Are Bethlehem for your great work to support inclusivity and community!

We had another great Memorial Day Parade honoring the dedicated veterans that have served our country with courage, sacrifice, and pride. 🇺🇸
Thank you to everyone who participated, attended, and helped make this year’s parade such a meaningful community tradition as we came together to remember and honor those who served.

Zoning Update proposal now moves to the Town Board

The Town Planning department thanks all those residents who attended one of the meetings or open office hours to learn about the Zoning Update. You can still access the proposed zoning map and information by visiting townofbethlehem.org/940/Zoning-Update.

All Zoning Update materials are available to the public. You can:

The community is invited to celebrate the new Cherry Avenue Extension Multi-Use Path on Thursday, April 23 at 6 pm at the intersection of McCormack Rd N and Cherry Ave Extension.

Show your support for this project – proposed by a local resident – connecting Delmar, the Rail Trail, and Slingerlands businesses with a safe and accessible pathway. Attend the ribbon cutting or just enjoy using the path! Let us know in the comments if you plan to attend.
