Bethlehem’s own Megan Kaminski is partnering with County Legislator Andrew Joyce, the Sheehy-Palmer VFW Post 6776, and the Women’s Club of Albany to send care packages to US Navy service members aboard the USS George Washington.

You can deliver items to a drop box in Town Hall, and they are particularly looking for candy and personal hygiene items.

You can also donate on Friday, August 28 from 6-9pm at the Rock for Our Troops fund raiser at the Sheehy-Palmer Post 6776. The event will feature live music, a silent auction, and face painting. All ages welcome!

Recognizing that hunger doesn’t end with the school year, volunteers from our Senior Services Department and the Delmar Progress Club sent backpacks filled with food to 13 Eagle Elementary School families throughout the summer. This program is part of the ongoing services of the Bethlehem Food Pantry, and reflects our community’s strong support for neighbors and wonderful generosity.

Overnight work on Feura Bush Road at Glenmont Plaza begins this week.

The Town would like to advise residents of overnight roadwork on Feura Bush Rd at the Glenmont Plaza. Benderson Development will contract Peter K. Frueh Construction to complete work to improve vehicle and pedestrian access to and from the plaza entrance at the light on Feura Bush. Construction will occur intermittently from Aug. 24-through Sept. 11 during the night (7 pm – 11 am) and may cause disruptions including noise from construction vehicles/equipment, lighting of the work area, and single-lane flagged traffic from 3am – 11 am.

The project will improve the plaza's rear exit-only driveway at Feura Bush Road with a right-turn only deflection curb and catch basin replacement, and install a pedestrian ramp, crosswalk, and signal at Murray Drive/Plaza intersection to accommodate pedestrian access to the Plaza from the Murray Drive neighborhood. The pedestrian signal poles are expected to be completed in October during limited daytime work.

The Perseid Meter Shower is passing overhead this evening/tomorrow morning. Town of Bethlehem, NY and Town of Bethlehem NY Parks & Recreation are opening up Elm Ave. Park parking lot for overnight viewing so you can have more space to see the stars.

What's your favorite song about stars or space so we can get a playlist together for local amateur astronomers?

What an incredible evening at National Night Out!

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate community, connect with neighbors, and meet the dedicated first responders and organizations that help keep Bethlehem safe every day. From live music and family activities to safety demonstrations, delicious treats, and meaningful conversations, it was a night filled with smiles, laughter, and community spirit.

A special thank you to the Bethlehem Police Department's Community Services Unit, our local agencies, businesses, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this event such a success. Together, we continue building a stronger, safer, and more connected Bethlehem.

We can't wait to see you next year!
