Delaware Avenue is one of Bethlehem’s primary main streets, connecting the town to the City of Albany to the east and the more rural parts of Albany County to the west.

Not a Delaware Ave related issue - but shared to get the word out.

Wemple Road is closed at the Route 9W intersection by the Historic Heath Farm barn due to accelerated erosion along a culvert under the road. Traffic to/from the Soccerplex must now detour along Rte 9W, Clapper Rd and Weisheit Rd, and Wemple Rd south of the facility.

This detour adds about 9 minutes of travel time to and from the Soccerplex.

Using a $1,194,000 State grant, the Town has been working with CHA Engineering and NYS DOT to get design plans and permits in place for construction in 2027. The Town is now working with these partners to determine if the road can be temporarily stabilized and reopened quickly, or if the construction schedule can be accelerated to begin as soon as possible.

🚧 Heads up: Snowden Rd Closure (4/13–4/17)

Snowden Road will be closed next week as road widening and sidewalk replacement begins along Delaware Ave (Bedell to Snowden).

➡️ Residents and businesses can still access driveways on Snowden by following the posted detour via Plymouth
🚶 Sidewalk in this area will be temporarily closed—please follow neighborhood detours or use the opposite side of Delaware Ave

Soojee Beauty is still open at 210 Delaware - although the driveway will be tricky. Take your time and drive carefully in this area.
Delmar Chiropractic and Giombetti & Brady Pediatricians can be accessed via the marked detour.

A short detour now for a smoother, safer road ahead—thanks for your patience.
