Lots of storm damage to the Center today! This is what Ogie‘s enclosure looks like! Ogi, our non-releasable educational ambassador Bobcat, was terrified, but somehow the enclosure was not breached. She was not harmed nor inadvertently released, thank goodness! Many more trees and enclosures were damaged today, but not one animal or human was injured.
And it doesn’t sound like it’s going to get any better this week, weather wise. We are without power since the lines are down in the field, but we will open again for anticipated (texted and scheduled) dropoffs tomorrow (Weds) between 10-5, power or not. Many birds, baby cottontails and squirrels will be kept for safekeeping overnight at individual homes and brought to the center tomorrow. Do not feed these animals. Keep them dark, quiet and warm.
Our tree man, Chad, will come as soon as he can, but if you were not damaged today and have an extra dollar or two you can spare to help with what’s going to be an expensive and time-consuming cleanup, we would sure appreciate your donation. Our PayPal button is on our website at www.wildcatwildlifecenter.org. Checks and gift cards are always welcome. Mail to WCWC,, 4709 N. 400 W., Delphi, IN 46923. As always we appreciate you all! If you can’t donate at this time, we understand and know that you are thinking of us and the injured and orphaned animals that need us! Thank you all.
