Porch progress! This porch has taken an enormous amount of effort to bring it back to its former glory and the journey is not over.

You can see the restored/rebuilt columns and the efforts being made now to rebuild the previously rotten rafters, fascia, etc. The curve makes it even more interesting :-)

It's not fun when you finally get the plaster done in a room and are excited to paint but first you have to chip off all the previous paint that was not prepped properly. On the upside, it's a very satisfying feeling because it comes off in big chunks. It works better when you're not trying to hold your phone and make a video :-)

Plaster repair continues. This is hard work, but very important to the integrity of the structure. Hamling House needs a lot of plaster repair, but it's getting done a room at a time. This is the smallest bedroom before and after :)

I really hope we did not create an annual "dirt day". On this day a year ago I had dirt delivered to fill in the old water feature on front street. Now, Ezra has had dirt delivered to grade under the porch.

Oy vey, another unwelcome surprise at the Front st house. This is what happens when you put siding on your house so you can't really see the structure and then you don't flash the chimney correctly so that water quietly leaks in and destroys a whole corner of the house. Yes, that is the outside that you see! Thank goodness Ezra is on the case!!
