They enforce local, state, and federal laws and regulations, as well as the school's policies and rules. SROs may investigate incidents of criminal activity, such as theft, vandalism, or drug-related offenses that occur on school property. They may also collaborate with school administrators to develop and implement strategies to prevent crime and promote a positive school climate. Relationship Building: SROs often develop positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
