Tonight, members of the Delran Fire Company #2 spent the evening at the Phillies game enjoying some downtime, good company, and great baseball.

A special thank you to the crew that stayed behind to cover the town and answer calls while we were away. Your dedication never goes unnoticed.

This week’s drill: Crews practiced pulling and deploying 200 feet of 1¾ inch hose from the apparatus and advancing it up a stairwell, just like we would in a real emergency.
This video is a single, continuous take showing the full evolution. In under one minute from the initial pull, we had water flowing. Our hose is packed using the Minute Man method.

Good evening from your Friday crew.

From 6:30 PM to 11 PM, our station is staffed by 100% volunteers giving their time to train, respond, and serve our community. These members balance work, family, and life, yet still show up ready to answer the call.

As the night continues, our overnight crew takes over from 11 PM to 6 AM. Five committed members stay in-house through the night, ensuring a truck is ready to roll at a moment’s notice, fast, efficient, and prepared for anything.

This week, a few of our members are down in Texas in specialized foam training hosted by National Foam
This hands-on training focuses on understanding the different types of firefighting foam, along with techniques to improve foam effectiveness in real-world scenarios. By learning how to apply foam more efficiently, our firefighters can suppress fires faster while using less water, an important step in both fire control and resource conservation.

Opportunities like this allow our team to continue sharpening their skills and bringing the latest knowledge and techniques back home. We’re proud of their commitment to professional development as they work to better serve and protect our community.

Meet Your Tuesday Night Crew!

Get to know the dedicated team serving our community every Tuesday night! This crew is made up of both firefighters and fire police who are on duty from 6:30 PM to 11 PM.

During their shift, they stay busy training, checking equipment and apparatus, maintaining the station, and most importantly responding to emergency calls when our community needs them most.

The commitment doesn’t stop there! We also have three members staffing our overnight crew, in-house at the Chester Ave station from 11 PM to 6 AM, ready to respond.

Our department is proudly 100% volunteer, and we’re always looking for new members to join the team.

Training like this saves lives.

Tonight, all members took part in an intensive Mayday training led by We started in the classroom, breaking down the difference between a true Mayday and an urgent communication, knowing when to call it can make all the difference.

From there, crews moved into the maze inside the training house. Firefighters were pushed to their limits, navigating through zero visibility, loud noise, entanglement hazards, and simulated collapse scenarios. From getting caught in wires to being pinned under debris, every obstacle forced members to rely on their training, initiating Mayday and urgent communications all while following the hose line to find their way out.

High stress. Limited visibility. Real-world scenarios.

This is how we prepare.
