Due to the large demand for the ID - especially for people who had already booked domestic flights - the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) launched its REAL ID Thursdays last March, with a mobile unit traveling to local towns to help people sign up.

The U.S. government has enforced since last year a law that now requires a REAL ID when people travel by airplane or entering certain federal facilities. Due

Burlington County Animal Alliance's Adoptable Pet of the Week: Meet Beau!

Hi, I'm Beau, and I'm looking for my forever family.

I was picked up as a stray and spent months in a crowded shelter, scared and hiding in the back of my kennel. As an all-black dog, it was easy for me to go unnoticed. When my future looked uncertain, a volunteer spotted me and helped me get a second chance through BCAA and a wonderful rescue partner.

I'm about 1-2 years old, weigh a little over 55 pounds, and appear to be a Labrador Retriever mix. While I was shy at first, once I realized I was safe, my goofy, lovable Lab personality started to shine!

I'm currently participating in the New Leash on Life Prison Dog Program, where I'm learning important skills like walking nicely on a leash, sit, stay, and crate training. My trainers say I'm a smart boy who loves to learn and wants nothing more than to make people happy.

I get along well with other dogs and have shown respectful curiosity around cats. Most of all, I'm ready for a family to call my own.

Could you be the one to give me the happy ending I've been waiting for? ❤️

Some dismiss the endearing opossum as unattractive – or even a nuisance – but this quiet creature is actually one of our gentlest and most essential wild neighbors.

Burlington County is distributing free, $40 farmers market vouchers to eligible senior citizens in the Farmer's Market Nutrition Program.

The county's Department of Human Services Office on Aging is now accepting applications from seniors. Qualifyers will immediately receive a QR code voucher redeemable for market products at any of 20 participating county farms and farmer's markets.

Last year, 960 county seniors got vouchers.

“We’ve heard from many senior citizens on fixed incomes who are struggling because of rising food prices and other expenses that make it difficult for them to obtain quality, nutritious foods,” said County Commissioner Randy Brolo, liaison to the Department of Human Services.

“The senior (voucher) program provides eligible seniors with a path to obtaining fresh, nutritious produce locally sourced from Burlington County farms.
