Founded in 1911, the Delray Beach Police Department serves a population of approximately65,000 within the fifteen square miles of the City of Delray Beach. Headquarters is located adjacent to the city's vibrant downtown business and historic districts. The staff -- over one hundred and fifty sworn officers and eighty civilian employees -- comprises the Office of the Chief, Support Services, and Op

erations. The department takes an aggressive approach to fighting crime with a well-educated and well-trained staff and sophisticated technology. With more than 100 officers patrolling the city, foot and bicycle patrols have been implemented to put officers closer to the community and to solicit civic support.

⚠️ DELRAY BEACH ANNOUNCES SIDEWALK PARKING ENFORCEMENT AIMED AT KEEPING PEDESTRIANS SAFE

Florida Law prohibits parking on a sidewalk, even where it crosses a driveway. A warning period runs August 31–September 30. Enforcement begins October 1, with violations subject to a $250 fine to the registered vehicle owner.

SIDEWALK PARKING ENFORCEMENT NOTICE

Keep sidewalks clear. Access is for everyone.
Florida law prohibits stopping, standing, or parking a vehicle on a sidewalk, including where a sidewalk crosses a driveway.
When a vehicle blocks the sidewalk, it creates a safety hazard and may force people — especially children, seniors and those with mobility issues into the roadway.
A warning period will run from August 31 through September 30, 2026.
Beginning October 1, enforcement will begin, and violations are subject to a $250 fine.
Please park completely off the sidewalk and help keep Delray Beach safe and accessible for everyone.
