A present day look at “Endurance” — a 12-foot aluminum and glass mosaic sculpture by visual artist Cheryl Foster, located at the Libby Wesley Plaza at the corner of SW 5th Avenue and West Atlantic Avenue. 🎨
Unveiled in 2012 and funded by a Delray Beach CRA Call to Artists, the sculpture pays homage to the strength and resilience of Delray’s original African American settlers. The plaza was later renamed in honor of longtime resident and community activist Elizabeth “Libby” Jackson Wesley. A fitting tribute to a woman whose legacy is woven into the fabric of this community.
