It was a big quarter across the CRA District, with progress on parks, historic buildings, and the 5th Avenue corridors.

The City Commission approved a $59.2 million budget for Pompey Park, moving it out of design and into construction on a brand new park. The Arts Warehouse is open again after repairs to the floors and a fresh coat of paint. The Wellbrock House and the Edmonds Baine Building both earned historic preservation honors.

And in historic Frog Alley, a panel reviewed 11 applications for a mural the CRA is planning alongside residents of The Set, so the finished piece reflects the neighborhood’s own history.

Join Executive Director Renee Jadusingh as she covers all of it in our latest quarterly update.

Two phases of work have been completed at 102 NW 5th Avenue, but it still holds its historic charm.

The CRA purchased the commercial building on Historic 5th Avenue in March 2024. The first phase replaced the roof, added insulation, installed new ceiling tiles, and resolved longstanding water intrusion. The second repaired stucco, repainted the exterior, corrected electrical issues, and replaced exterior lighting, tenant signage, windows, and doors with commercial grade impact materials.

Investments like these keep affordable commercial space available for the small businesses along the corridor.
