The crew is on the loose! 🚒 Throughout the month of June Delta Fire firefighters will be hitting the streets collecting donations, catch them if you can!

‼RED FLAG WARNING – Thursday, May 28th – NO BURNING‼

The US National Weather Service Grand Junction Colorado has issued a Red Flag weather warning for Delta County today from 1pm-8pm.

Delta County is expected to have gusty winds from 20-40 mph, coupled with low relative humidity and dry fuels which means fire will catch and spread quickly.

Per Delta County Ordinance 2024-2, when the National Weather Service issues a Red Flag warning, there is NO OPEN BURNING ALLOWED.🚫

Please help stop any fires in Delta County from starting today by NOT burning. Report any fires to 9-1-1 or Delta County Dispatch at 970-874-2015.

‼️RED FLAG WARNING – Critical Fire Weather Wednesday, May 13th – NO BURNING‼️

The US National Weather Service Grand Junction Colorado has issued a Red Flag weather warning for Delta County.

Delta County is expected to have gusty winds up to 45 mph with low relative humidity as low as 9% which creates critical fire weather and can cause rapid wildfire growth.

Per Delta County Ordinance 2024-2, when the National Weather Service issues a Red Flag warning, there is NO OPEN BURNING ALLOWED.

Please help stop any fires in Delta County from starting today by NOT burning. Report any fires to 9-1-1 or Delta County Dispatch at 970-874-2015.

🚩High Wind Advisory – Wednesday, April 22 - NO BURNING🚩

The US National Weather Service Grand Junction Colorado has issued a high wind advisory for Delta County beginning at 9am today (Wednesday) and will last through 9pm this evening.

The forecast calls for strong winds from the SW between 25-35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph and low relative humidity which results in high wildfire risk.

To reduce the risk of wildfire and support public safety, NO OPEN BURNING ALLOWED today.

Gusty winds will blow unsecured objects, tree limbs could be blown down, and high winds can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Please plan ahead to secure objects around your home, and use extra caution while driving.

‼️High Wind Advisory - Thursday, April 2nd, NO BURNING‼️

The National Weather Service US National Weather Service Grand Junction Colorado has issued a High Wind Advisory for Delta County today until 9pm with sustained winds of 20-30 mph, and gusts up to 50 mph.

Recent moisture has helped, but even if the ground surface is wet, high winds can dry out top vegetation quickly and push embers, creating conditions for rapid fire spread as drought conditions remain.

Please help stop any fires in Delta County from starting today by NOT burning. Report any fires to 9-1-1 or Delta County Dispatch at 970-874-2015.

‼️🚩Red Flag Warning - Critical Fire Weather Monday, March 30th - NO BURNING ‼️🚩

The National Weather US National Weather Service Grand Junction Colorado has issued a RED FLAG weather warning for Delta County and most of the Western Slope for Monday, March 30th for critical fire weather conditions.

Delta County is expected to have gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels which can combine for rapid wildfire growth. Wind gusts are expected up to 45 mph today with humidity as low as 11%.

Per Delta County Ordinance 2024-02, anytime the Weather Service Issues a Red Flag Warning, there is NO OPEN BURNING ALLOWED.

Please help stop any fires in Delta County from starting today by NOT burning. Report any fires to 9-1-1 or Delta County Dispatch at 970-874-2015.

⚠️ High Wind Advisory - Delta County for Saturday, March 14th ⚠️

The US National Weather Service Grand Junction Colorado has issued a Wind Advisory for Delta County for Saturday, March 14th. Due to strong winds expected with gusts up to 50 mph, Sheriff Taylor has implemented a High Wind Advisory - NO BURNING ALLOWED due to hazardous conditions.

Please help keep our community safe!

How you can help:
🚫 No Outdoor Smoking: Please keep it indoors or in a vehicle. Do not throw ci******es out of a moving vehicle.

🛠️ Avoid creating open flame or sparks outside: Please avoid using equipment or tools that could create open flames or sparks outside during this high wind and dry conditions. If you are towing a trailer - ensure your trailer chains are secure and not dragging.

👁️ Stay Vigilant: Watch for smoke or signs of fire.

📞 Report Fires: If you see something, say something. If you see active fire or smoke, please Dial 9-1-1 immediately.
