What an incredible day at Camp Rescue! 🛟🚑🚁
The Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad hosted about 50 excited kids (ages 7–12) for a hands-on adventure in emergency services. Dressed in their special tees, the campers got up close and personal with it all:

Touring a ladder truck with firefighters from the Lower Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department, crawling through a simulated smoke-filled house, and learning to use fire extinguishers.
Getting a rare behind-the-scenes look at VCU LifeEvac’s Airbus EC-135 helicopter and talking with the Flight Paramedic, Flight Nurse, and pilot.
Practicing radio use and calling dispatch, touring ambulances and medical equipment, and learning basic first aid.
Our CPR instructor had them doing perfect chest compressions to the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” on training manikins! 💓
After a delicious lunch prepared by the wonderful MCVRS Ladies Auxiliary, the kids cooled off with sprinklers, then wrapped up the day with ice cream, and swag bags.
