Today, members of the Demarest Police Department proudly participated in the Borough of Demarest’s Memorial Day ceremony to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

We extend our gratitude to all veterans, active military members, and Gold Star families for their service and sacrifice. Memorial Day serves as a reminder that freedom is never free, and we remain forever grateful to those who gave their lives in defense of our nation.

We thank everyone who attended and helped pay tribute to our fallen heroes.

Join us for the National Take Back Initiative! Demarest PD, in collaboration with the DEA, is hosting the event on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Last year, over 4,383 law enforcement partners nationwide collected a staggering 599,897 pounds of unwanted medicines. Our goal is to provide a safe and anonymous opportunity for NJ citizens to dispose of unused, expired, or unwanted medications. Let’s tackle potential sources of abuse and misuse together, safeguarding public health and safety. Together, we can make a difference! The collected medications will be responsibly converted to clean energy by Covanta Energy at their waste facilities. Join us in protecting our community and environment.

- Medications may be disposed of in original containers, but residents are encouraged to remove identifying information from the label.
- All liquids, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original container, ensuring that the cap is tightly sealed.
- Intra-venous solutions, injectables (including epipens), and syringes WILL NOT be accepted.
- Illicit substances such as ma*****na and methamphetamine WILL NOT be accepted.
- V**e pens will only be collected if the resident has removed the battery from the device; otherwise, they will not be accepted.
