Summer Little Wiggles Storytime at the Demarest Gazebo lawn is back starting next week on Monday, June 1st at 10:30 am! We will meet on Mondays all Summer long. The forecast looks beautiful, so bring your picnic blanket and some sunscreen and meet Ms. Jen at the shady part of the Gazebo lawn for stories, songs, and fun! 🌞📚🌸

No registration required. In the event of inclement weather we will meet inside the library and accommodate as many attendees as we can. If unsure, check our calendar or call the library the morning of for updates!

****Please be mindful that there are still some final touches being done on the Gazebo for the next few weeks (it will be completely safe, but there may be some noise). Please stay by the lawn area only, not the Gazebo. The Borough has allowed us to start our outdoor series!

Last week the Demarest Library and Demarest Nature Center held their second annual planting session! The DNC and DPL planter log sits right by the DNC entrance behind Wakelee Field and playground. Despite the unusual heat, we had an enthusiastic group help us fill our planter, as well as decorate their own planter pot and fill it with begonias! Thank you to all that participated! A huge thank you to Ray Slaman and Dave Emerson from the DNC, and Ann Robbins from the Friends of the Demarest Library and Demarest Garden Club. We are proud of our planter and invite community members to visit the log throughout the summer.

Hello Demarest community! Our recent plumbing project is now complete. The library will have a one-hour delayed opening tomorrow, Thursday, May 28 while we complete the final setup. So, we are closed to the public until tomorrow at 10 AM.

Attention Chess Players - The Kids Chess Challenge is back on Saturday, June 20! This time there are TWO SEPARATE TOURNAMENTS at separate times.

For ages: 6-14 years old

NON - Competitive Tournament: 9:45 - 11 am for beginners

Competitive Tournament: 11 am - 12:15 pm for intermediate/advanced players

During the closure, the book drop on Stelfox Street will remain open for returns, and patrons are encouraged to continue accessing eContent through our digital platforms.
