Check out our new non-fiction book Rice Krispies with Ketchup: A Comedians Journey with an autistic child by Kirk N Smith! Our Programming and Outreach Associate Reilly met Kirk on the Norwegian Aqua Cruise this summer during one of his comedy shows! After telling him about the library, he generously donated this copy and even signed it! Thank you Kirk Smith for your generosity!

Check out the book today! You can also learn more about Kirk by visiting his website: https://www.kirksmithcomedian.com

Synopsis:
Rice Krispi’s and Ketchup: A Comedian’s Journey with an Autistic Child is a hilariously honest, painful and heartwarming account of a family’s daily struggle with loving and caring for a special needs child. Author and standup comedian, Kirk Smith’s account of the challenges and the lessons his family has learned are equal parts heartbreaking, funny, and uplifting. The author provides astute and timely advice that every family, no matter what specific challenges they face, needs to hear. Through laughter and tears Smith finds a way to come to peace with his son´s limitations, motivates his readers to live life fully and provides what families in similar situations need—HOPE.
