We are a coalition of representatives from government, non-profits, business and agriculture working to address food policies in our community. Luna County was one of eight counties across the nation selected as a Community of Opportunity for the GFC project. COOs were selected through an extensive, competitive process for GFC to provide assistance and training to help local governments and their

partners strengthen food systems through planning and policy. This work in Luna County, New Mexico is being done as part of the Growing Food Connections project, funded with a grant from the USDA /NIFA AFRI Food Systems Program NIFA Award # 2012-68004-19894.
