Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend; it is a time to remember those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy each day.

As firefighters and first responders, we understand the meaning of service, sacrifice, and commitment to others. We stand with gratitude for our fallen military heroes and keep their families in our thoughts today.

EMS Week is a time to recognize the dedicated EMTs, Paramedics, Firefighters, Dispatchers, and first responders who answer the call no matter the hour, weather, or situation.

At Keener Township Volunteer Fire Department, we are proud to serve our community with compassion, professionalism, and commitment. Every call represents someone in need, and our members continue to step forward to make a difference for the citizens we serve.

Thank you to all EMS professionals across Jasper County, Northwest Indiana, and beyond for your sacrifice, dedication, and service to others.

Today, we celebrate the mothers who keep our families, our communities, and our firefighters strong.

Behind so many first responders is a mom who taught compassion, resilience, sacrifice, and service. We also recognize the mothers who serve alongside us, balancing family, careers, and the call to help others in times of need.

From all of us at Keener Township Volunteer Fire Department, thank you to every mom, grandmother, stepmom, and mother figure who makes a difference every single day.

Last night was one for the record books!

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to support our Fish Fry. Because of you, we had a record-breaking night, and we are incredibly grateful that you chose to spend your evening with us.

We hope you enjoyed the food, shared some laughs, caught up with friends and neighbors, and simply took time to enjoy a great night out in the community. Events like this are what make our department proud to serve such an amazing group of people.

This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, and we want to take a moment to recognize the voices behind the radio who keep everything running smoothly.

We’d like to give a huge THANK YOU to our partners at Demotte Police Dispatch and Jasper County Sheriff’s Dispatch. Your calm voices, quick thinking, and constant support make a difference on every single call we run. We truly couldn’t do this job without you.

And just a reminder to all our members… if you haven’t hit your “Dispatcher Appreciation Button” yet… it’s that orange one on your radio 😉 (you know, the one we all seem to find when we’re trying to turn the volume down).

In all seriousness, we appreciate everything you do, day in and day out, often behind the scenes, but never unnoticed.
