Spending time on the water is a great way to enjoy the summer, but safety should always come first.

Did you know the Denair Fire Department has life jackets available for anyone to borrow—completely free of charge? If you or your family need a life jacket for a day on the lake, river, or any water activity, simply stop by the station, pick one up, and return it when you’re done so someone else can use it.

A properly fitted life jacket can save a life. Please remember:
* Always wear a life jacket while boating or participating in water activities.
* Children should wear a life jacket whenever they’re near or on the water.
* Water and alcohol don’t mix—save the drinks for after you’re safely off the water.
* Stay hydrated, keep an eye on your family, and enjoy a safe summer!

It was been a busy past few weeks for your Denair Firefighters. Brush 38 spent 6 days deployed to the Chute Fire in Yuba County. Crews returned and were immediately sent back out hours after returning to the firehouse to the Dove Fire in Tuolumne County in response to an Immediate Aid request. We were also able to send one of our own fire Captains to the Dove Fire incident as a Strike Team Leader Trainee. Our crew spent 5 days on this incident and returned home safe and sound.
