DMRDC is requesting that St. Helena Parish citizens become actively engaging with this year's Halloween Trick or Treating festivities on,
October 31, 2017
Beginning @ 6pm-8pm.
The Consortium begs to ask residents throughout the St Helena Parish area to rekindle, rejuvenate, reinvent, and actively participate in this year's Halloween trick-or-treating!

This Celtic holiday stem from their belief that there was a thin division between the dead and the living. They therefore utilized Halloween as a way of frightening off the dead spirits. Desperately hoping the dead spirits won't try to reside among the living.
The ancient Celtics rejoiced and anticipated the following religious holiday of "All Saints Day" is a celebration that honors the souls of those who presumed to have entered into the Kingdom of Heaven.

The pagan holiday of Halloween was an attempt at containing the spirits of the dead; while

would remain within their confounds in the 19th Century

are asking that adults actively distribute safe treats for children in their various communities.

Despite your religious beliefs, this holiday is utilized as a kid friendly event. Whereby the kids can transform themselves into anything they may wish to be. While gathering sweet treats that are safe and free of any dangerous ingredients that may harm any kid who eats your treats.

DMRDC is asking that neighborhoods within the St Helena Parish become more diligent in their effort to provide a wholesome and often anticipated by kids; the opportunity to have a pleasant Halloween Trick or Treating event.

Let us began this year becoming more committed to having our children enjoy a special event like receiving treats from their neighbors. Just as we once did as kids.

Oftentimes kids from St Helena Parish are forced Togo to Livingston Parish for Trick or Treating because NOBODY IN ST HELENA PARISH IS GIVING OUT CANDY!!!!
Shame on us for allowing to simple yet magical time in a child's life go the void of caring and participating by the grown ups in their community.

This Halloween, will deeply miss Albert Jr. Watson, particularly for his annual haunted trail ride through the woods and returning to have a costume contest and dance for youngsters. Due in large part because of his absence is more the rationale for choosing to follow in his attempt to have something special for the children of our community.

We in the Dennis Mills community will be hosting our 2nd Annual Tailgating Trick or Treating event. Simply put, we park our cars close to the street, while having cookouts for adults attending and providing our children with hefty amounts of treats.

We also decorate our yards and vehicles with Halloween decorations for more authentic settings.

DMRDC IS ASKING ALL COMMUNITIES IN ST HELENA PARISH PARTICIPATE THIS COMING HALLOWEEN 🍬🍭🌭🍔🤹🏾‍♂️🇺🇸.

This coming autumn and winter holidays are quickly approaching, the DMRDC is considering a few the following events:
1) Treat n Trunk---Trick or Treating from tailgates of trucks or automobile's trunks.
A. This method allows for trick or treaters to easily make their way throughout the various Dennis Mills communities.
B. If parents choose to drive through neighborhoods, extreme caution must be vigilantly adhered to by ALL.

There hasn't been any activity with this page or with the organization itself. Mainly due to the lack of physical contact & Human Resources needed to have any movement. Hence my writings have decreased and the prospect of having committed individuals assist with this endeavor has been lackluster to say the least.

There seems to be a double standard that is a hidden secret that doesn't allow for outsiders to make any headway with setting up any form of business endeavors.

This lack of actual manpower and idle talk won't produce the type of movement necessary for adequate assistance and production. I'm not giving up; however, I must revisit this and problem and seek outside guidance and resolution for the community as a whole. Thank you for your loyalty however it requires much more the reading my post! I requires the community as well as stakeholders to commit to evolution of things much needed concept. I will continue to try to bring exposure to our youth here in St. Helena Parish.

The summer program is getting off to a slow start with everyone doing their summer holiday traveling. However, I would like to have at least one week of field trips to the World War II museum, the aquarium, IMAX theater, the state museums in NOLA, Blue Bayou and lastly Lynn Haven in Robert, La.

I can't do this by myself and volunteers are welcomed. Hopefully we can utilize the school buses in the local area for transportation and we can play as we go. I haven't stopped seeking stakeholders with this program and i promise to keep you posted.

CALL TO ACTION TOWN HALL MEETING

The DMRDC would like to announce the trailblazing role it will undertake in order to galvanize, solidify and propel our parish 's lack of public resources to the minds and hearts of all involved. With the hopes of making our parish move forward and become a great place to raise a family and live in.
Therefore the DMRDC will be spearheading a great deal of communication between the community, governmental officials, stakeholders, social media, broadcast media, print media, talk show circuits, radio, podcast & blog venues to bring our plight to the forefront and to get results by "as means necessary"!
Change is difficult for most of us including myself, hence the mission of the organization is to bring about change through positive means that will bring about increased community resources and active participation in the improvement process. Allowing for sincere, knowledgeable, creative, doable input from all citizens of St. Helena parish.
It never will be the intention of the DMRDC to override the governmental authorities and officials; however, it will be our goal to hold ALL ELECTED OFFICIALS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS TO THEIR CONSTITUENTS!!
Therefore this brain storming meet and greet will be headed by the DMRDC and with the knowledge and approval of our 4th Ward Police Juryman--Mr. Warren McCray, Jr.
is being finalized for an immediate and important organizational role assignments.

Dear Ms. Gray,

Thank you for contacting me about the executive appointments process for the incoming Trump Administration. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with me.

Who a president chooses to lead federal agencies can impact every single one of us, and I believe the president has the responsibility to appoint men and women best suited to carry out the will of the American people and who will have our best interest behind their decisions. The President of the United States has the authority to designate thousands of appointments. Under Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 of the U.S. Constitution, approximately 1200 of these appointments require confirmation before the U.S. Senate – including cabinet secretaries and other senior leaders. In an effort to best represent South Louisiana, I have taken advantage of opportunities to weigh in with the Senate on appointments. As you know, the U.S. Constitution does not provide the authority for the U.S. House of Representatives to consider these nominations independently.

Not all appointments require Senate confirmation - particularly those chosen to serve on the president’s personal staff are left to his discretion. That being said, our priority is to ensure that everyone being considered to serve in the Administration has the professional and ethical qualifications deserving of such an appointment. I intend to continue to work closely with Louisiana’s U.S. Senators Cassidy and Kennedy to ensure that these qualifications are met for all executive appointments approved by the Senate.

Thanks again for sharing your views. As future nominations and appointments are announced, please feel free to contact me.

My job is to represent you, which works best when we are communicating. So, let's continue the conversation. Visit garretgraves.house.gov to subscribe to my newsletter, "Like" Congressman Garret Graves on Facebook or call one of my offices for more information.

Garret Graves
