Denison Volunteer Fire Department Fire and Rescue Training Center The DVFD purchased 2 acres of land in 2013 that will be used for the training of the fire department firefighters as well as local fire departments to use.

With the addition of this property the fire department will be able to strengthen their fire ground operations by having the ability to train as we fight. Along with the land purchase we also purchased a training building made by American Fire Training Systems, INC. The training building is a three stories in height and has a class A burn room on the first floor. The second floor will be an open a

rea with breeching walls and VEIS windows. The third floor has a smoke room and ceiling bunch outs leading to a pitch roof ventilation prop on both sides of the roof.

Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Applicants must be at least 19 years old on or before the posted closing date of May 17, 2019. Candidates must meet physical requirements as established by the City of Lincoln. Possession of valid driver's license.

Must possess a Nebraska Emergency Medical Technician - (EMT) License within 180 days of appointment. Must obtain a Nebraska Firefighter I certification within 120 days of appointment. National Registry Paramedic certification desired. SELECTED CANDIDATES MUST SUBMIT TO, AND
SUCCESSFULLY PASS, A SUBSTANCE ABUSE TEST.

Applicants who successfully meet minimum requirements will be scheduled for the written exam. The written exam and physical ability tests are scheduled for May 28 and 30, 2019. Detailed test information will be sent by e-mail to qualified candidates.
