Final week of the Citizens Police Academy!

Participants had the opportunity to visit the Denison Police Department's shooting range, where they learned about fi****ms and the role of less-lethal weapons in law enforcement.

Class members had the opportunity to have hands-on experiences using various fi****ms.

Officers shared valuable insight into the training and responsibilities that come with carrying and using the fi****ms DPD officers rely on every day to help keep our community and themselves safe.

Week 10 of the Citizens Police Academy!

This week, Citizens Police Academy participants learned about s*x offenders and s*xual offenses, as well as dispatch and emergency communications. Participants gained valuable insight and learned about the critical role both areas play in public safety and effective law enforcement response.

⚖️ Week 8 of the Citizens Police Academy!

Participants took part in a mock trial at the Grayson County Justice Center. Using scripts and roles based on a real-life scenario, they conducted a full trial from start to finish.

A mock jury listened to the evidence and chose the verdict. It was a great hands-on experience that gave participants a closer look at the judicial process and what happens inside the courtroom.
