The DEA is proud to present Denison Parks & Rec with $1,380 for the purchase of new playground equipment for Washington Park. As educators, the DEA understands the value of quality outside time for students and having new playground equipment at our most centrally located park is something our students desperately need. Pictured from left to right are DEA President Peter Bekkerus, Sam Ellis with Denison Parks & Rec, City Manager Jessica Garcia, and Mayor Pam Soseman.

The funds were raised as part of the DEA’s annual “Jeans Day Fundraiser” where teachers can donate for the district to allow 4 extra days wherein teachers can wear jeans to school.

We're proud to have partnered with DCSD to make this project happen. Multiplication isn't always the easiest skill to master but now that these multiplication tables are visible every day, we think they'll sink in! Teachers always know how to use all available space!

Classrooms in the Denison Community School District (DCSD) buildings, unoccupied for six months now, will once again become hubs of education and activity in just 10 days.

Just in time for the start of the 2019-20 school year, the DEA is proud to unveil "the Buddy Bench" now installed at Broadway Elementary. Students who are feeling lonely, sad, or left out need only sit on the bench and other students then know to approach and invite them to play. DEA members were proud to raise the funds for this project and will continue to pursue work and projects that benefit our students.
