Hello Denmark-Olar students, parents, teachers, faculty, and staff!

As we begin another exciting school year, I’d like to take a moment to reintroduce myself.

I am Officer Elijah Fleming, proudly serving as the School Resource Officer (SRO) for the Denmark Police Department. My mission is simple—to help provide a safe, secure, and welcoming learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Being an SRO is about much more than law enforcement. It’s about building relationships, mentoring students, supporting teachers and staff, and partnering with parents to strengthen our school community.

As families across our community prepare for a new school year, the Denmark Police Department wants everyone to enjoy a safe and successful back-to-school shopping weekend.

Whether you’re shopping close to home or traveling out of town, a few simple precautions can make a big difference:

🔹 Lock your vehicle and keep valuables out of sight.
🔹 Stay aware of your surroundings at all times.
🔹 Shop with family or friends whenever possible.
🔹 Keep your purse, wallet, phone, and packages close to you.
🔹 Park in well-lit, populated areas.
🔹 If you notice suspicious activity, trust your instincts and report it immediately.

The safety of our citizens is our highest priority. By working together and looking out for one another, we can help ensure that every family enjoys a safe start to the school year.

Pillows of Comfort — Cops Who Care 💙

What a wonderful time the Denmark Police Department had spending time with the residents of Centerfield Court Apartments here in Denmark, South Carolina!

As part of our “Pillows of Comfort — Cops Who Care” campaign, our officers had the opportunity to give pillows to members of the community and, more importantly, spend time talking, laughing, and building relationships with the people we are honored to serve.

We extend a very special THANK YOU to Pegasus Home Fashions for generously supplying the pillows that made this community outreach possible. Your generosity allowed our department to take something as simple as a pillow and turn it into an opportunity to show care, compassion, and community spirit.

For the Denmark Police Department, policing is about more than answering calls and enforcing laws. It is about being present, building trust, supporting our neighborhoods, and letting our citizens know that their police department cares about them.

To the residents of Centerfield Court Apartments: thank you for welcoming us! We truly enjoyed spending time with you, and we look forward to continuing to serve every neighborhood in Denmark.
