The police department would like to thank Brotherhood Heating and Cooling. The police department received a welfare check for an elderly lady because her furnace was not working. Sgt. Boitnott did the welfare check and the elderly female stated she could not get anyone to come until Thursday, but with temperatures getting into single digits tonight and tomorrow and her house temperature already dropping, that could be dangerous for her safety. Brotherhood Heating and Cooling came within 30 minutes and took care of the furnace.

We would like to thank the street department , John Rypien and Erin Burdette for getting the streets taken care of. There are still many cars buried in the snow and the street department needs to get the rest of streets plowed. Anyone with cars buried in the snow, please attempt to move the car soon because the village does have a 72 hour parking ordinance.

Patrolman Elmore and Sgt Boitnott initiated a traffic stop in the 300 block of North street because the driver had a suspended drivers license. Sgt Hickman of the Uhrichsville Police Department utilized his K9 and the K9 alerted on the vehicle. The female driver was taken into custody on an active warrant and a search was conducted on the vehicle. Multiple drug paraphernalia items and suspected methamphetamine was located during the search. The vehicle was impounded and the female driver was then transported to jail in an adjacent county.
