*Join us on Wed. Sept 23, at 11am for a “Voter Education Information Session” presented by Cape May County League of Women Voters. This will be a non-partisan presentation that will discuss the importance of voting, how and where to vote, how to make changes to your voter registration (address, party affiliation), what to do if you can’t vote in person, as well as other related topics. *Join us on Wed. Sept. 30, at 1pm as VITALity Catholic Healthcare Services present “Fall Prevention and Home Safety”. During this session you will be able to identify the major risk factors for falls and learn practical strategies to prevent them. This presentation also offers tips for making your home safer. A brief description of the compassionate care programs and resources available to support your physical, mental, and spiritual health through VITALity services will be shared as well. Please join us for two upcoming special presentations at The Dennis Township Senior Center - Wed. 8/12, 11am- "The DASH Diet - Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension", presented by Anneliese Kuemmerle, MS, RDN, from Rutgers University, Cooperative Extension of Cape May County. We will discuss what the DASH diet is, the benefits of the DASH diet, and share tips on fitting the DASH diet into your life. We will also have a bonus discussion on herbs - what to grow and how to use them!

Also, on Wednesday, 8/19 join us at 12pm for a presentation titled "RURAL HEALTH CONNECT - SOUTH JERSEY" presented by Acenda Integrated Health. Rural Health Connect offers assistance to uninsured and underinsured individuals and families living in Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, & Salem Counties by connecting them to doctors, find mental health and wellness support, learn about housing, food, transportation, help scheduling appointments, and so much more. Lunch will be provided by Acenda Integrated Health during the presentation on 8/19 (please RSVP to Shannon at 609-861-3137).

July 23 – Happy Gorgeous Grandma Day! 💐💖

Yesterday was Gorgeous Grandma Day and we couldn't let the moment pass without recognizing the amazing ladies of Dennis Township Senior Center!

Whether you're a grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, step-grandmother, or a loving "stand-in" grandmother, you are truly fabulous, and you deserve to be celebrated!

A special shout-out to all the grannies, grams, grandmoms, mommoms, nanas, nannies, nonnas, grandmas, meemaws, abuelas, G-Moms, and to the aunts, neighbors, and other incredible women who have stepped into the role of grandmother and earned a special place in the hearts of those they love.

Thank you for your love, wisdom, kindness, and the countless memories you've created over the years. We hope you enjoyed your special day as much as we enjoyed celebrating with you!

Attention Taxpayers: New Tax Bills Are Being Processed

We're excited to announce Auto Pay is Here!

You can now create an account and set up automatic withdrawals through WIPP, the online payment site. If you choose to set up automatic withdrawals to pay your taxes, the payment will be withdrawn on the 1st of each tax quarter, except for the August quarter, which will be withdrawn on the extended due date provided on your tax bill. For this year, the extended grace period for the August quarter is September 2, 2026.

As a reminder, the same fees apply to Auto Pay as they do to one-time online payments.

Please be vigilant when entering your account information, as no notification will be sent if your payment fails due to invalid account information.

ATTENTION TAXPAYERS –

The Dennis Township Tax Office has not yet received a certified 2026 tax rate from the County. As a result, the Final 2026/Preliminary 2027 Property Tax Bills (covering the August and November 2026 quarters and the February and May 2027 quarters) have not yet been mailed. We anticipate that tax bills will be mailed toward the end of July. The August 1 due date grace period will be extended to allow 25 days from the date of mailing to pay without interest. The grace period extension date will be printed on the stub for the 3rd quarter.

Once the tax rate is finalized and certified, the billing process will begin. At that time, tax bill amounts due will be available online. Property owners are encouraged to check the WIPP payment portal on Dennis Township's website at https://wipp.edmundsgovtech.cloud/home?wippId=0504 for updates and payment information.

The Cape May County Division of Aging and Disability Services announced a partnership with the State of New Jersey Division of Taxation and Atlantic Cape Community College – Cape May County Campus to host a free Property Tax Relief Filing Assistance Event for residents age 65 and older, as well as residents receiving Social Security Disability benefits, who are seeking assistance with their 2025 NJ PAS-1 applications.

The event is designed to assist eligible residents with filing applications for New Jersey property tax relief programs, including ANCHOR, Senior Freeze, and Stay NJ benefits through the combined PAS-1 application process. Trained representatives from the State of New Jersey will be on-site to provide guidance and filing assistance.

"Smart Driver's Course" through AARP will be held at the Dennis Township Senior Center on Wed., July 15, 10am-4pm. It is a 6-hour course, with two 15 min breaks and a 30 min lunch break (plus others as needed). The course is designed to refresh your driving skills & explore new rules of the road, provide the latest vehicle technology information, address normal changes in reaction time, vision, and hearing associated with aging, reduce overall car maintenance as well as possibly give you a discount on car insurance (check with your provider, many companies offer a discount to those who take the course).

The space is limited to 20 people; you must RSVP to Shannon if you are interested at 609-861-3137 or email [email protected]. Please provide your name and contact when signing up. If necessary, a waitlist will be created, and you will be contacted if there are any cancelations.

Lite refreshments will be available. Please bring your own lunch, drinks, and snacks as you wish. The cost is $20 for AARP Members, $25 for Non-AARP Members (checks or cash will be accepted the day of the event). There will not be a test - all questions will be answered together and open discussions will be had throughout the day. What would you want future generations to know about life in Dennis Township in 2026?

The Old School House Museum is collecting small items for a community time capsule that will be buried later this summer as part of our America's 250th Anniversary celebration.

Residents, students, businesses, and organizations are invited to contribute items such as photos, handwritten notes, business cards, menus, postcards, beach tags, small keepsakes, and other memorabilia that capture life in our community today.

Join us in creating a lasting snapshot of Dennis Township for those who will open this time capsule decades from now!
