UPDATE 10:22 a.m. | All lanes are now open.

TRAFFIC ALERT 9:08 a.m. | The northbound I-35E flyover to I-35W is currently closed due to a crash involving an 18-wheeler. The northbound service road is also shut down at North Texas Boulevard. Expect significant delays in the area and seek an alternate route!

9:15 a.m. update: All lanes reopened. The HazMat company had to work through the night, but they got it done.

3:45 p.m update:
This afternoon, a truck carrying kitchen grease on Sherman Drive began leaking along Bell Avenue. As a result, portions of one westbound lane on Sherman Drive and portions of the southbound lane on Bell Avenue between Sherman Drive and Eagle Drive are closed.

In addition, sections of the southbound lane on Dallas Drive, from Eagle Drive to Teasley Lane, are also closed. These closures are not continuous but affect multiple segments along these roadways.

A remediation company has arrived to assist with the cleanup.

TRAFFIC ALERT BELL/McKINNEY:
There’s a large spill of kitchen grease causing slippery roads and a not-so-pleasant odor downtown. It’s going to take a few hours to remediate. So hold your nose and take it slow in that area!

Heads up, Denton!

🚧UPCOMING ROAD CLOSURES: AUG 28🚧 The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will be implementing the following scheduled road closures this weekend as part of the ongoing I-35E/I-35W Merge Project:

--The Northbound and Southbound lanes of Bonnie Brae will be closed under IH35E from 9 p.m. Friday, August 28 to 9 a.m. Saturday, August 29.

--The Northbound IH35W exit to IH35E Southbound will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, August 28 to 8 a.m. Saturday, August 29.

--The Northbound IH35E exit to IH35W Southbound will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, August 28 to 8 a.m. Saturday, August 29.

--The Northbound Frontage Road from North Texas Blvd to Bonnie Brae will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, August 28 to 8 a.m. Saturday, August 29.

--The Northbound IH35E Exit 467A to Bonnie Brae St. will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, August 28 to 8 a.m. Saturday, August 29. Drivers can access US 380 by using Exit 469.

Drivers will detour to the US 380 U-turn to get to I-35E Southbound.

During these scheduled traffic impacts, be sure to plan ahead, be mindful of work crews, and follow detour signs! As progress continues, check TxDOT's website, drivetexas.org, for daily lane closures.

Great work, Officer Manes! 👏 Last year, he rendered life-saving aid to a woman who had drowned. Thanks to the efforts of Officer Manes, Denton Fire personnel, and hospital staff, the woman made a full recovery.

UPDATE 5 p.m. | The roadway is open.

Expect traffic delays near E. Sherman Drive and Kings Row due to a crash involving a motorcycle. Kings Row is currently closed while E. Sherman Drive is down to one lane of travel in each direction. Please seek an alternate route!
