1. As a governmental entity, Caroline County Health Department must abide by certain standards to s
erve all its constituents in a civil and unbiased manner
2. The intended purpose behind establishing Health Department social media sites is to disseminate information from and about Caroline County Health Department and public and environmental health issues impacting the Caroline County community.
3. Content consisting of any of the following shall not be permitted on Health Department social media sites and is subject to removal. Content not related to the original topic, including content that is random or unintelligible;
B. Profane, obscene, violent, or pornographic content and/ or language;
C. Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, or any protected status;
D. Defamatory or personal attacks;
E. Threats to any person or organization;
F. Content in support of, or in opposition to, any political campaigns or ballot measures;
G. Solicitation of commerce, including but not limited to advertising of any business or product for sale;
H. Content in violation of any federal, state, or local law;
I. Encouragement of illegal activity;
J. Information that may tend to compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems; or
K. Content that violates a legal ownership interest, such as a copyright, or any party.
4. The Caroline County Health Department reserves the right to ban or block users from its page for violations of this Code of Conduct, and to report such conduct to Facebook and to law enforcement where necessary.
5. Appeals of the deletion of a comment or a block/ban from this social media page can be addressed to the Health Officer in writing and mailed or hand delivered to 403 S. 7th Street, Denton, MD 21629.
