As we remember 9/11 and the tragedies that unfolded that day 25 years ago, several entities are planning public events.
At 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 6, city leaders from City of Lewisville, Texas Government, City of Highland Village, Texas Government, Town of Hickory Creek, City of Corinth, Texas- Government, Shady Shores, The City of Lake Dallas, Texas, City of Denton, TX - City Hall, and Denton County, Texas officials will gather for a “Walk of Remembrance to the center of the southbound Lewisville Lake pedestrian Bridge.
Officials from Lewisville, Flower Mound, Highland Village, and Denton County will meet officials from Hickory Creek, Corinth, Lake Dallas, Shady Shores, and Denton at the midpoint of the walkway carrying American flags to honor and remember all those who perished 25 years ago on 9/11/2001.
Participants are welcome to bring their own current U.S., Texas, or U.S. military branch flags.
Cities south of the bridge will meet at Doubletree Ranch Park. Cities north of the bridge will meet at Oak Drive and SB I-35E service road.
No political flags, banners, or signs of any sort allowed.

At 8 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, a ceremony will be held at the City of Denton, TX - City Hall Central Fire Station at 332 E. Hickory St. in Denton.

At 8:45 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, the Trophy Club Public Safety - Police & Fire is planning a moment of silence and brief ceremony honoring those who showed incredible courage on that date 25 years ago. More details are at www.trophyclub.org/patriotday.
