STATE SOIL CONSERVATION COMMITTEE

CAROLINE SOIL CONSERVATION DISTRICT (SCD)
SUPERVISOR TO BE APPOINTED
The Caroline SCD is seeking individuals with knowledge and sincere interest in proper land use and conservation of natural resources to be considered for appointment to its Board of Supervisors. Supervisors must be residents of Caroline County and are expected to attend monthly Board meetings. Interested individuals are strongly encouraged to attend a Board meeting prior to applying. Contact the Caroline SCD office for meeting details (410-479-1202, ext. 3).
The appointment is a five-year term to expire on February 10, 2031 and is made by the Maryland State Soil Conservation Committee (SSCC). More information (including Facts Supervisors Should Know) and the application form can be downloaded at the website below:

SUPERVISOR TO BE APPOINTED

The Caroline SCD is seeking individuals with knowledge and sincere interest in proper land use and conservation of natural resources to be considered for an at-large appointment to its Board of Supervisors. Supervisors must reside within the county boundary associated with the SCD and are expected to attend monthly meetings of the Board. The appointment will be for a term to expire on February 10, 2030 and will fill the expired term of Greg Turner. All appointments to the Board of Supervisors are made by the Maryland SSCC. 🛑ATTENTION Farmers & Visitors🛑

We are committed to protecting the health and safety of our poultry producers and their flocks. To minimize risk of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), we've implemented boot disinfection mats at our building entrance. Please use them when entering to ensure proper biosecurity.

Be sure to implement proper biosecurity measures on your own farm as well. In Maryland, report any unusual or sudden increases in sick birds to the Maryland Department of Agriculture Animal Health Program at 410-841-5810 or after hours at 410-841-5971.

NRCS will have an Application Deadline of November 15 for select EQIP ACT NOW practices. Applications include best management practices such as, High Tunnels, Oyster Restoration, On Farm Energy, Energy Audits. Caroline County Farmer Spot Light:

This is Franklin Robinson and his 86lb watermelon from Marydel, MD. This was 1 of 3 watermelons he had grown this year that were 80lbs or more. He stated "No one thinks we can produce like this in Northern Caroline County!" Well Mr. Robinson, we know YOU can! 🍉🍉🍉
