πŸ™Œ Pecan Creek Elementary kicked off its first Dads & Dudes High Five Friday, and the morning was full of high fives and smiles at drop-off.

Dads & Dudes welcomed students as they arrived, bringing a little extra energy to the start of the day and giving staff a well-deserved break from morning drop-off.

🐻 Thank you to all the dads and dudes who showed up for our Bears!

Our Board recognized some remarkable work on Aug. 25, on stage, in the practice room and in the front office where families are made to feel at home.

🎡 Allison Taylor and Alex Owens former Hawk Elementary students and Mia Smart of Crownover Middle School were selected for the 2026 TCDA Honor Choirs and performed at the state convention this summer.

πŸ† Mark Eads of Guyer High School, Nicholas Schiller and Wesley Duesenberg of Braswell High School were named Outstanding Performers at the UIL State Solo & Ensemble Contest, an honor earned by fewer than 3% of state soloists.

⭐ Catherine Coleman Bell Elementary and Cheek Middle School are National PTA Schools of Excellence, recognized for the work their PTAs did to welcome families in, open new lines of communication and make sure every family knows they have something to offer.

Congratulations to every student, director and PTA volunteer behind these honors.

πŸ’š Students at Sandbrock Ranch Elementary were actively engaged in high-quality learning experiences designed to build understanding, encourage participation and help students apply new skills.

In math, students explored the meaning of division through equal groups and hands-on manipulatives. In language arts, students practiced crafting descriptive sentences while developing their skills as writers.

Across classrooms, teachers incorporated movement, music and hands-on activities to make learning meaningful, engaging and accessible for students.

It’s a great example of the high-quality instruction happening every day across Denton ISD as we remain focused on excellent student outcomes.
