Smoke Alarm Saturday was a huge success!
We installed all of the smoke alarms from our grant! We already have a running need list as well. If any area department had any unused as of today we could use 8 more!
Thank you to the community for their involvement and willingness for us to come into your homes to help check your current alarms and install new smoke alarms as needed. We also shared safety information packets for cooking safety and home escape planning!

We are all about using resources as long as they work but check out the video clip in our previous post. Although, your smoke alarm may still work, have you checked the date on it! The oldest changed out for community members that still worked were from 1991 and 2001.

Safety needs to be part of our vacations... always have a plan and know your way out!

Traveling plans for summer? If you are staying in a hotel or motel, take a minute to learn your surroundings in case of an emergency. https://nfpa.social/3YJSfTc

When you arrive:
β€’ Read the escape plan posted in your room.
β€’ Count the number of doors between your room and the nearest exits.
β€’ If exit doors are not alarmed, open them to be sure they are unlocked.

Increased fire danger this weekend!

Everyone knows it's been dry as of late, but the combination of dry fuels, breezy afternoon winds, and low humidity will lead to an increased fire danger this weekend.
