Welcome to the TWU Bands page. Here you will be able to find upcoming information on concerts and events for all of the TWU Bands. The Wind Symphony is the premier wind and percussion ensemble in the Department of Music and Drama at TWU. This select ensemble is comprised of the finest wind and percussion instrumentalists on campus, and it is dedicated to the study and performance of the h

ighest quality of literature for the wind band medium. It is open to ALL students, regardless of major, by audition. The University Band, one of our newest ensembles to campus, is designed specifically for the non-major and is open to all students, regardless of major. No audition is required for participation and it presents a concert at the end of each semester. Music Education majors are encouraged to participate on secondary instruments and all TWU students are invited to continue their music-making in this musically rewarding environment. The Pioneer Pep Band provides musical entertainment for select TWU Pioneers Volleyball and Basketball games. Auditions to be a paid member of Pioneer Pep Band will occur as part of Band Placement Auditions. We hope you can join us tonight at 7:30 for a musical “Tapestry” as the TWU Wind Symphony takes the stage for the first time this season. Tonight’s performance will feature 2025 Concert winner Ivonne Davila Hernandez on Francois Borne’s “Carmen Fantaisie Brillante” as well as Dr. Pam Youngblood on the exciting 3rd movement of the Peter Senchuk Concerto for Flute and Wind Ensemble. Other featured composers include Carol Brittin Chambers, Aaron Copland, Karl King, Joel Puckett, and William Schuman.
