There is an active presence of volunteers at the school and at the many events hosted by the school and PTA. We have a large group of parent and community volunteers who serve as role models for students and provide support to teachers and staff. The importance of diversity and core values are prominently expressed at W.S. Ryan have a number of opportunities to showcase their talents in and out of

the classroom. Several teachers volunteer to sponsor after-school clubs, such as Running Club, Choir, Green Team (environmental club), Yearbook Club, and ASL (sign language) club. School administrators also recognize Rockin’ Wranglers –students who go above and beyond and show great growth in their goals – before their peers at school assembly each semester. Teachers host classroom celebrations to highlight students' progress in literacy. This process helps the children build their self-esteem and fosters a positive learning environment at the school.

Congratulations to Mrs. Conrad for earning this week’s Teacher of the Week! Here’s what Mrs. Cosper had to share about our amazing Mrs. Conrad:

This week, I would like to pass the wreath to Kim Conrad!
I have been so impressed with our new 4th grade group, and there have been multiple times when we are discussing a topic and they immediately say, “Mrs. Conrad taught me that last year!” Not only do her former students sing her praises, but her current students do too!

I love that Mrs. Conrad recognizes the importance of giving her students brain breaks and opportunities to do something as simple as working on a puzzle. The way she embraces and supports her students’ social and emotional needs is something that simply cannot be taught.
Kim is a remarkable teacher, a great friend, and a true coworker who makes W.S. Ryan a better place. We are so lucky to have her!

Here’s what Mrs. Beeler had to share:

It is hard to choose just ONE Teacher of the Week when we work with so many amazing people, but I am honored to pass the recognition to Tyler Cosper!

If you walk by Tyler’s classroom and peek through the window, you will consistently see a fully engaged group of students actively and happily learning. She prepares her students for success if fourth grade in all ways academically and socially, so that when they reach fifth grade, they are ready to tackle the science curriculum, assessments, and increased rigor with confidence and enthusiasm. Most importantly, Tyler helps her students genuinely enjoy learning. In her classroom, learning is never treated as a chore.

Tyler is also an incredible coworker. She is always willing to lend a joyful, helping hand, support her fellow teachers, and contribute to the success of WS Ryan in every way she can. She greets everyone with a smile and is welcoming and encouraging not only to her students, but also to her colleagues.

Tyler is, through and through, an exceptional teacher, a trusted confidante, and a truly wonderful teammate. She is incredibly deserving of being our Teacher of the Week!

This year, our Wrangler Staff is recognizing a Teacher of the Week. This is passed from teacher to teacher each week. This week Mr. Wolf passed the honor to Mrs. Beeler. Please join us in congratulating our latest Teacher of the Week, Heidi Beeler!

This honor is well deserved! Her remarkable dedication to her students and her craft is evident the moment you step into her classroom. She has established clear, engaging routines that create an inviting, structured environment where every student feels secure and ready to learn. Even on tough days, rough days, and moments when things don't go to plan, her unwavering patience shines through as she continues to give her absolute best to every single child, ensuring each student gets the guidance they need to succeed academically and personally.

Most importantly, she has a gift for making science come alive. She instills a true love of discovery in her students by encouraging them to ask thoughtful questions, test new ideas, and look at the world from different perspectives. By fostering a classroom culture where curiosity is celebrated and creative thinking is embraced, she is shaping her 5th graders into confident, critical thinkers. Thank you, Heidi, for your passion, hard work, and the incredible impact you make in our school every single day!
