Judy Smith and her neighbor, Anne Pearson, have jointly owned this open lot in between their two houses for over 30 years! Several years ago, Judy and Anne decided to create a “Chairy Tree” on this lot by having a few chairs nailed up into one of the large trees. The two thought it would be fun to expand on this idea and create a “Chairy Orchard,” to liven up an otherwise useless lot (due to it be
ing in the flood way). These two friends plan to plant oats and possibly wild flowers as the orchard grows. The chairs were all found from garage sales, flea markets, dumpsters, or even on the curb. The goal was to collect 100 chairs to complete the “Chairy Orchard” - but they have surpassed that goal two or three fold with no intentions of stopping. Feel free to visit this eclectic area and bring your friends to enjoy the outdoors anytime of year. Just know that we do not close the orchard for any events- so there may be other park visitors present for your events. Open sun up to sun down everyday. Free admission usually, except for special events- contact the Chairy Orchard for information about a charitable contribution for special events.
