You may have recently noticed our officers enforcing certain city ordinances, including violations related to loud music and exhibition of acceleration. These enforcement efforts are not new laws—they are existing ordinances designed to address issues that impact the quality of life in our community.

Over the coming weeks, the Denver City Police Department will be sharing information about both City Ordinances and the Texas Transportation Code to help educate the public on laws and regulations that affect daily life.

Our goal with traffic enforcement has never been to write as many citations as possible. Instead, our mission is to enforce the law fairly and consistently while promoting public safety for all who live, work, and travel in Denver City.

☎️ 🚨 Teamwork in Action: Rural Response at Its Best 🚨🚑🚒🚔

On Sunday, June 7th, the Denver City Police Department received a 911 call reporting an industrial accident.

From the moment the call came in, our Telecommunications Officer remained calm under pressure, quickly gathering critical information and ensuring the appropriate resources were dispatched without delay. Their professionalism and quick actions set the tone for a coordinated emergency response.

Within minutes, personnel from the Denver City Police Department, Denver City EMS, Denver City Fire Department, and the Yoakum County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

A special recognition goes to Denver City EMS, whose rapid response, medical expertise, and dedication ensured the patient received immediate care and was transported quickly for advanced medical treatment. We also want to commend the Denver City Fire Department for their invaluable assistance, scene management, and support throughout the incident.

This response serves as a reminder of the strength of our rural community. While some may see challenges in being a small town, moments like these demonstrate what happens when dedicated first responders work together toward a common goal.

We may be small in numbers, but we are mighty in service, commitment, and teamwork.

The Denver City Police Department would like to thank all responding agencies for their professionalism and cooperation. Most importantly, we wish the patient a full and speedy recovery.

Nikita is a college student from Estonia, Europe doing his summer internship with Southwestern Advantage Educational Company out of Nashville, TN. He will be in the Denver City area for the next week going door to door selling educational materials that provide ACT prep, college credit classes, and study guides for all ages K-12 through McGraw Hill and Princeton Review.

If he knocks on your door, just know he has an accent!
He is very friendly and has been to our office and introduced himself to us, as well as other departments in the area. If you are not interested, he will give you a smile and move on to the next family.

He has been approved for a door-to-door permit from the City of Denver City.
