Barb Kirkmeyer for Governor

Barb Kirkmeyer for Governor Mom. Grandmother.
4th-generation Coloradan. Raised on a dairy farm. Raised a family on one. State Senator on the Joint Budget Committee. Conservative patriot.

Republican running for Governor to get Colorado back on track. Barb Kirkmeyer is a State Senator, a leader on Colorado’s Joint Budget Committee, and a mom and grandmother who believes Colorado’s best days are still ahead. A 4th-generation Coloradan, Barb grew up on a dairy farm, learning early what it means to work hard for every dollar. She went on to build small businesses, serve as a Weld Count

y Commissioner helping make Weld one of the only debt-free counties in the state, and later bring that same discipline to the Colorado legislature. As a State Senator, Barb has balanced budgets, stood up for taxpayers, and delivered real results for Colorado families. She’s running for Governor because Colorado needs steady, competent leadership again — leadership that rolls up its sleeves, cuts through the noise, and gets the job done.

What great night at the Elbert County Lincoln Day Dinner.

One of the highlights was celebrating the Patriot Essay Contest winners. Hearing these young people speak about freedom, citizenship, and love of country gives me a lot of hope for Colorado’s future.

It was also great to hear from former Congressman Dana Rohrabacher and Ryan Schuiling as we reflected on our nation’s history and the values that continue to make America exceptional.

Most of all, I enjoyed spending time with so many people who care deeply about their communities, their state, and their country.

Thank you to the Elbert County Republicans for a wonderful evening.

Colorado doesn’t have a revenue problem.

It has a spending problem.

I’ll cut waste, reduce fees, roll back costly regulations, and make affordability the mission of my administration.

Because if families can’t afford to live here, nothing else matters.

It’s Time.

After eight years of one-party Democrat control, too many families are still struggling to find mental health care for their children. We've spent more than a billion dollars on behavioral health programs, yet families are still waiting for services, providers are leaving our state, and too many kids are falling through the cracks.

That's exactly what I talked about at the Mind Our Future forum.

I've spent years on the Joint Budget Committee fighting for school counselors, special education funding, mental health services, and healthcare providers because I believe these should be priorities.

Colorado doesn't need more excuses, more bureaucracy, or more attacks on TABOR.

We need leadership that holds government accountable and makes sure the dollars we're already spending actually reach the children and families who need them.

Colorado's kids deserve better. As governor, I'll make sure they get it.

It's Time.

Thank you to 1st Bank/PNC and Land Title Guarantee for hosting this morning’s discussion. Moderated by Colorado Politics Editor Luige del Puerto. In partnership with BOMA Denver, Colorado Concern, DMCAR, Downtown Denver Partnership, NAIOP Colorado, and ULI Colorado

Colorado families and businesses are tired of higher costs, endless red tape, and a government that too often gets in the way instead of helping.

We need leadership focused on results, not excuses.

On Day One of a Kirkmeyer Administration, Colorado will send a clear message:

“We’re open for business again.”

This may be the most disturbing interview I’ve ever seen.

Victor Marx showed exactly who he is - completely unqualified for the role he’s been pretending to play, and finally showing his true colors for everyone to see.

Republican and unaffiliated voters need to pay attention to just how bad this interview really is. The con is up.

Colorado voters are seeing exactly what’s at stake in this race.

Families are dealing with higher costs, more crime, bad roads, and years of failed Democrat leadership.

This is not the time for drama, excuses, or candidates focused on themselves.

Complaining about moderators is not leadership. Fighting everybody in the room is not a plan. Yelling louder does not make somebody ready to run a $46.8 billion state government.

I’ve balanced billon dollar budgets, defended TABOR, supported law enforcement, and fought to improve roads and infrastructure across Colorado.

I’ll put my record up against anybody in this race.

Republicans and unaffiliated voters want somebody who can beat the Democrat ticket and get Colorado back on track.

I’m ready.
