Hi Friends and Fam!

My work is putting on our annual 5k event as a fundraiser to support our mission. This year's event will look a bit different - it is a "virtual" 5k, which means you can register or donate from anywhere, and for those who are local, I am gathering a group to meet in person on Saturday, June 7th at 10:00 am at Lion's Park at 10th and Maple in Golden, Colorado.

Join me and Team Rood Runners OR donate to help raise funds for Open Door Ministries! We are an organization in downtown Denver with a goal to address poverty, build communities, and cultivate followers of Christ in Denver. We do that through four focus areas: housing, leadership, youth, and outreach. I work in one of our four women's transitional homes (Esther House), for single women coming out of crisis, which includes homelessness, addictions, domestic violence, trauma, etc. Because we are a Christian organization, we rely on private funding to keep on going!

All race registrations or donations to Rood Runners directly goes to my support account for my work as Esther House Director. Any amount is helpful! If you have any questions, let me know!

It’s that time of year again! Open Door Ministries is hosting their 13th annual Run For The Door 5k event on Saturday, June 4. Would you consider supporting me by joining my team or making a financial contribution to my team?

All registration fees and donations made to my team go directly to my support account! This year my goal is to raise $2,000, and YOU can be part of helping me reach my goal.

If you join my team, you have the option of running/walking remotely or on-site, or submitting a donation if running just isn't your thing! Regardless of whether you can join in person, you will get a sweet t-shirt.

This 5k event will raise awareness and funds to support what God is doing through Open Door Ministries in urban Denver.

Hi friends! We had a resident graduate Treasure House recently (which is our home for single moms), and she wrote a rap which she performed at her graduation. That's right, a RAP! Lyrics are below. We are so touched by her and her story. She is a special woman!

“I spent two years at Treasure House,
I'm leaving now, feeling really proud,
I'm two years clean and two years redeemed,
I'm two years into Jesus if you know what I mean.

Two years ago I threw my hands in the air,
Said, "Can anyone hear me? Is anyone there?
It's dark and quiet and I've got no hope,
I've tried and I've tried, but I ran out of rope."

Then someone came and took my pen.
They said, "Your story's about to be rewritten,
So turn the page and begin the mend,
By the way, my name's the Great I Am."

So I started a new chapter,
And now my life is like before and after,
Broken and scared, with low self-esteem,
Forgiven, delivered, and fully redeemed!

And now I live life on the bright side,
Walking along, I've got pep in my stride,

I will be working this year for Thanksgiving at Still Waters Housing. Every year, we like to provide a Thanksgiving meal for our ladies for some special time of community.

Would anyone be interested in contributing prepped dishes for this meal? Sides or even a turkey? Things that we could stick in the oven or that could be dropped off day of? We are in need for about 15-20 people.

Putting some feelers out there! Feel free to direct message me if you're interested in serving in this capacity this Thanksgiving!

Chayah House is being transformed! Special thank you to our volunteers who worked so hard in painting 3 of our bedrooms. They were in rough shape and now look STUNNING!

Hi Colorado Friends! You’re Invited - May 16th to Te Veo House Grand Opening!

Te Veo House is Open Door's new 0-6 month home for homeless women. Te Veo means “I see you” in Spanish. During Covid, the homeless crisis in Denver has grown tremendously, and we're excited that we can help meet this need even more now!

We are looking forward for the relationship to grow with Te Veo and Still Waters Housing (Chayah House) to be able to create a pathway to stable housing and resources for the residents!

After a long season of work and planning, Te Veo House is officially open for ministry! They now have their first official two residents and another is moving in soon. God has seen them through the long process of preparation and we want to celebrate the grand opening with you. Come see the beautifully renovated home, enjoy some snacks, and join us as we officially launch this program that will serve women coming out of crisis. Here are the details:

Our Run for the Door 5k is coming up fast on June 5th! We are about 1 month away!

Please sign up and invite your friends to run/walk at Cheeseman Park, Denver or from anywhere (if you choose virtual) to support Open Door Ministries, as we address the root causes of poverty in urban Denver through housing, education, job training, outreach, and youth programs.

This is also a great way to raise support of my work specifically, by joining my "team" upon registration - TEAM ADAMS. There are a couple of ways you can join in the fun and support my work at ODM.
