Fire safety should never be ignored. This photo came from one of our own who updated his detectors. Only 1 detector was under 10 years old. Recommended they be changed every 10 years or less. We also recommend changing batteries 2x a year and testing them more often than that!

This time of year has a higher risk of loss with all forms of heat going to stay warm. Please stay vigilant and don’t cut corners on heating.

If you can’t think of a gift to get someone consider a new detector for that special person. It could be the most needed gift they don’t know they need.

Also don’t forget to water your tree!

Fire Truck Tuesday!
We are proud to announce our new Squad that’s in service now!! It’s been a longtime coming, years of fundraising, & countless member hours. This is our 3rd truck used since we started running a Squad. It will have more uses than our older trucks we’ve replaced.

Squad 2 assignments:
First response on all medical calls,
Trailer tow vehicle, enclosed trailer with portable pumps for drafting water on large fires,
Transport for training not held locally
Cleanup after fire ground operations complete,
Delivering more assistance to a scene,
Personnel pickup from Hospital after runs where members ride along to hospital in assistance with EMS,
The list continues to grow.

But we cannot thank you, our townships, the Town of Denver, the members of both the ERU, & Fire Dept enough for all the support.

This is a true blessing!

Update.
MIAMI COUNTY burn ban is lifted. Please be very cautious still!! The fires we’ve had have been fortunate not to get out of hand. But still major losses to those involved. With the continued dry weather pattern Fire will still spread after the rains.

Fire Truck Friday!

This week members dropped these trucks off to head to Africa. We retired Engine 3 when we purchased Engine 15 last year.
And recently retired Squad 2 which will be replaced next year!

Big shout out to our members for putting in the hours to make this all happen. We also wouldn’t be able to replace equipment without the tax dollars and donations. We are always in need of replacing equipment to keep compliance up to date. So thank you for your continued support!

We would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

2024 a new date, but so many things continue from last year that we continue to be grateful for.

The members 5 stars! (Fire & ERU)
The donors 5 stars!
The community we serve, the why we respond to the call, also 5 star.

Family is what we think of ourselves, but you are all extended family in this together. Let’s make 2024 just as great as 2023 with any updates we can make to better serve the community. But most importantly, to protect our members.

Thank you to all!

Friday Fire Facts:

Rescue 6 & Tanker 5 have been updated in recent years and we have not updated them on Facebook.

Rescue 6 was a 1980 Mack and we replaced it with our 2001 Ford F550, The rescue which holds our extrication tools was downsized to be able to cross all county bridges with lower weight restrictions that our larger trucks cannot. It still has fire fighting capacity with a much smaller tank. But many more conveniences like an enclosed cab with all forward facing seats.

Tanker 5 replaced our 1985 tanker which was 1800 gallon to the updated 1996 Ford with 3,000 gallons of water.

Stay tuned for more information on your Dept!

The members of the Dept and the ERU would like to thank everyone who donated money or goods to our services this past year. A special thank you to those individuals who donated stimulus money to the Depts. We always have some form of equipment that is either out of date for use, or isn’t safe to use and be effective. Those donations were greatly appreciated and will be used to better serve the community going forward.

We are always looking for grants or donations to update these different types of equipment. If you ever have money that you are willing to donate please don’t hesitate to ask what we might need or need money for. We always take anonymous donations also.

We would also like to Thank our members. We continued to take calls and will continue through these challenging times. They are all volunteers, and have to risk taking whatever sickness/illness they encounter home with them potentially exposing other family members. We take precautions as we can with the materials we have, and will continue to assist the ambulance staff as needed. But don’t always recognize the risks they sometimes take, Thank you all!

Again, thank you all for the continued support and keep the good words and donations coming if you will.

Have a safe and prosperous 2021!!
