Every year, we are honored to take part in Unity at the Rim. 💙

This event is about so much more than basketball. It’s about bringing law enforcement and our youth together, creating opportunities to connect, build trust, and bridge the gap through conversation, teamwork, and a little friendly competition.

Relationships aren’t built overnight—they’re built one interaction at a time. We’re grateful to everyone who makes this event possible and to the young people who continue to show up, engage, and remind us why community partnerships matter.

Together, we’re building stronger relationships, one game at a time. 🏀🤝

Black excellence in action. ✊🏾⭐

Today we proudly celebrate Detective Codo for receiving both the STAR (Superior Tactics and Response) Award and the Police Merit Award—two honors that recognize exceptional professionalism, initiative, and service.

The STAR Award recognizes officers who demonstrate superior tactics and decision-making to successfully resolve critical incidents while protecting the safety of the community and their fellow officers. The Police Merit Award honors individuals who distinguish themselves through initiative, tenacity, and outstanding service that significantly contributes to the mission of the department.

Receiving both awards speaks to the caliber of leadership, dedication, and excellence Detective Codo brings to the badge every single day.

We are proud to celebrate this achievement and the example it sets. Congratulations, Detective Codo—your work, commitment, and excellence do not go unnoticed.

Women’s History Month isn’t just about celebrating history — it’s about continuing it.

Trailblazers didn’t wait for permission.
They challenged systems.
They demanded seats at tables.
They created new tables when necessary.

We don’t inherit progress by accident.
We inherit it because women before us were brave enough to disrupt.

So here’s to the women who lead loudly, love fiercely, and refuse to be limited.
We are not the exception.
We are the evolution.

Black excellence is honoring the sacrifices of those before us by walking boldly into spaces they were denied and leaving the door open behind us.✊🏾👑

It was an honor gathering with the Denver Black Firefighter Alliance to celebrate and highlight the Black excellence within public safety across the City and County of Denver. Representation matters. Leadership matters. Excellence matters.
