Thanks to generous donors, we can further protect our historic objects and house!

Scottish Window Tinting was here this week to install a special film that not only strengthens the glass, but also significantly reduces heat and UV infiltration. Scottish was quick, profesional, and mindful of our museum setting. Thank you!

It's Women's Equality Day, a commemoration of the 19th amendment which granted women the right to vote in 1920. The amendment prohibited denying the right to vote based on s*x, but women of color still faced discrimination. Voter suppression, poll taxes, literacy tests, and violence prevented many Native American, Asian American, Latinx, and African American women, and men, from voting. Finally, the 1965 Voting Rights Act prevented racial discrimination in voting, and a 1975 extension granted language minority citizens full access to the vote. What does Women's Equality Day mean to you?

Just before boarding the Titanic, Margaret visited Egypt with her daughter Helen. They had this photo taken on camels in front of the sphinx and pyramids. Just days before setting sail on the ill-fated ship, Margaret mailed this photo home to her niece with a note: "ships that pass in the night."
