We’re so proud to see Carrie Kruetzer and the incredible impact she is making here in Colorado! By using her American Sign Language skills, Carrie is helping make our Day Program more accessible and welcoming to participants who communicate using ASL—opening doors to meaningful connections, new experiences, and greater inclusion within the community.

👉 Years ago, when Carrie Kruetzer was a college student pursuing a degree in Special Education, she lived in a campus house where all of her roommates communicated exclusively in American Sign Language.

The ASL skills she honed back then are now benefitting deaf participants in Dungarvin Colorado’s Community Connections Day Program!

We had an absolute blast participating in the Wheat Ridge Carnation Festival Parade last weekend! Wheat Ridge Carnation Festival🌸

Our float was inspired by The NeverEnding Story - a film that reminds us of the power of courage, hope, and believing in what’s possible. Those themes feel especially meaningful to the work we do every day as we help the people we support pursue their goals, build independence, and create lives filled with possibility.

We were so happy to be part of this wonderful community celebration. Thank you to the Wheat Ridge Carnation Festival for having us - and to everyone who helped bring our float to life! 🐉✨

Earlier this week, we recognized the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) - a landmark piece of legislation that has helped expand access, opportunity, and inclusion for millions of people with disabilities.

At Dungarvin, we’re proud to support individuals in living meaningful lives in their communities while continuing to advocate for inclusion, choice, and equal opportunity for all.

✍️ The Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law on July 26, 1990 – 36 years ago today.

This historic Act that protects the rights of peoples with disabilities is much more than curb cuts on sidewalks or elevator access. It’s about seeing individuals with disabilities as equal citizens that deserve the same rights as anyone else! This photo shows the ADA being signed into law in 1990.

The Dungarvin mission ensures that we respect and respond to the choices of individuals in need of supports. This allows people to live their lives with the same independence and dignity as anyone else.

🎳 That's a wrap on another great season for our Colorado Springs Bowling League! 🎳

As we head into Peak Summer, we're celebrating all the fun, hard work, and accomplishments from the 2025–2026 season. This year brought a triplicate, at least five 400 series, multiple 125 games, some turkeys, hambones, an impressive 200+ game with a 500 series, and to top it all off - a clean game! 🎉

Most importantly, it was another season filled with laughter, friendly competition, and great memories.

A huge thank you to Main Event for always being such welcoming hosts and for supporting our league throughout the season. We truly appreciate your partnership!

Interested in joining the fun? Our USBC-sanctioned league welcomes bowlers of all skill levels. Sign-ups begin in August, with league play starting after Labor Day.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to attend the Regional Center Community Provider Fair and connect with so many wonderful people in services, families, case managers, and community partners.

We’re grateful for the chance to share information about our services, learn more about the needs of our community, and build new connections along the way. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table to say hello—we enjoyed meeting each and every one of you!

What an incredible day celebrating Dungarvin Colorado's 35 years of service and Dungarvin's 50th anniversary as an organization!

Our celebration was a chance to recognize the people who make this work meaningful every day—our dedicated team members, Host Home providers, family caregivers, individuals served, and their families. We are grateful for the trust, partnerships, and relationships that have been built over the decades and continue to shape our future.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Denver Botanic Gardens and to all who have been part of Dungarvin's journey. Here's to honoring our history, celebrating the people who make our mission possible, and continuing to lead with Respect. Response. Choice. for years to come.
