With the start of a new school year quickly approaching, your Denver Police Department and the Denver Police Foundation are excited to partner in setting up Denver students for success by providing free school supplies to families in need. While supplies last, we'll be at five locations handing out backpacks filled with school supplies – no registration or qualifications are required.

All DPS schools and administrative offices are closed on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, due to severe weather. This includes the Emily Griffith Technical College. All school-related events and activities, including athletic practices and all Discovery Link and ELCS Enrichment programs, are also canceled. Any CHSSA-sanctioned competitions are still scheduled right now. Coaches, please consult with your Athletic Director about your game.

We will continue to monitor the weather and will announce any updates first on the DPS homepage at www.dpsk12.org and district social media channels.
