NEWSED is a Community Development Corporation (CDC), which has served the Denver Community since 1973. NEWSED’s primary focus has been to solve long-term economic problems in disadvantaged communities by securing and coordinating resources for neighborhood revitalization, developing needed shopping areas and services, fostering minority and neighborhood business ownership, job retention and creati

on, increasing home ownership and affordable rental opportunities, neighborhood organizing and hosting cultural events and activities that showcase the neighborhood’s predominately Latino population. NEWSED promotes holistic social and economic development opportunities.

The Denver Cinco de Mayo "Celebrate Culture" Festival is just days away - and it's one of the most vibrant community events of the year.

Three stages of live music and dancing, local vendors and artisans, a lowrider car show, Chihuahua Races, a taco eating contest, and free family-friendly entertainment all weekend.

NEWSED has organized this festival since 1987, and it remains one of the largest and longest-standing regional Cinco de Mayo celebrations in Colorado.
