What is a Sesquisemiquincentennial?

It's the name for the milestone we're all celebrating in 2026: Colorado's 150th anniversary as a state and America's 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Two major milestones colliding at once, and a rare chance to look back at how Colorado's story and the nation's story have always been connected.

In 2019, the After School is Kool program made ceramic books with the help of local artis Marie Gibbson. You can find these magnificent pieces of art at the Pauline Robinson Branch Library inside of the Warren D. Alexander Community Room.
