HPCO's mission is to create opportunities to empower the Harvey Park and Harvey Park South communities through education programs, social events, and philanthropic activities. Founded as Harvey Park Improvement Organization in 1956, the HPCO is one of the oldest neighborhood organizations west of the Mississippi. Originally founded to give the residents of Harvey Park a voice at City Hall, the HPC
O has an ongoing mission to provide relevant communication, encourage friendly relationships between neighbors, foster a sense of community, and protect property values through education and awareness. We are not an exclusive organization, and welcome residents of surrounding neighborhoods to participate in the HPCO. The Harvey Park Neighborhood in Southwest Denver has been home to the friendly folks of Colorado since the neighborhood was formed in the mid-1950s. Harvey Park is bounded on the west by South Sheridan Boulevard, on the south by West Hampden Avenue (US 285), on the east by South Lowell Boulevard, and on the north by West Jewell Avenue. Harvey Park includes about 4,300 homes.
