We wanted to let everyone know that over the next several weeks, there will be repairs made to the historic (circa 1999) drainage system and concrete at the Denver Fire Headquarters Fire House on Highway 16 Business.

We are working with the contractor to complete this project in phases, so there will be no functional reduction of service provision during the repairs. The fire house remains open, staffed, and ready to respond when needed.

Members of the Denver Fire Department Safety Committee attended the Annual Safety Awards Banquet with Commissioner Luke Farley and the NC Department of Labor on May 7th.

At the banquet, they accepted an award on behalf of the Denver Fire Department. The award highlights organizations that go above and beyond minimum safety requirements. By publicly acknowledging companies that prioritize safety, NCDOL encourages others to adopt stronger policies, invest in training, and create environments where employees can perform their jobs without unnecessary risk.

Congratulations to DFD and the safety committee on being one of this year’s recipients. Thank you for setting the standards high for excellence in safety!
