Denver Human Services will be closed Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth, however child and adult protection emergency response teams and telephone hotlines will be taking and responding to reports. To report suspected child abuse or neglect, or the abuse, neglect, or exploitation of an at-risk adult in Denver, call the Denver County Child Welfare and Adult Protective Services hotline at 720-944-3000. To report suspected child abuse outside of Denver, contact the statewide hotline1-844-CO-4-KIDS (1-844-264-5437). To file a mandatory report of suspected elder abuse for an adult 70 years and older or the abuse, neglect or exploitation of an adult with an intellectual or developmental disability, call the Denver Police Department at 720-913-2000.

Denver Human Services has adjusted services on the third Wednesday of every month between 2-4 p.m. Food, cash and medical services, and EBT services, will not be available at our locations (including our Neighborhood Resource Site) or from our Call Center during this time. The following locations are impacted:

These locations will close early at 2 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month.

⚠️ Temporary Closure & Service Relocation ⚠️

Our Richard T. Castro Human Services Center (1200 Federal Blvd.) and the Welcome Center (2929 W. 10th Ave.) will be closed Wednesday, July 8 to Friday, July 10, 2026, for construction.

⛔ The Welcome Center's services are permanently relocating to the Castro building.

✅ The Castro building will reopen Monday, July 13 at 8 a.m. with services available in a temporary first‑floor lobby, including:
▫️Food, cash and medical assistance
▫️Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) services
▫️Outreach Case Coordination
▫️Child Support Services
▫️GIVE Center
🚧 Look for wayfinding signs to the new temporary entrance.

Hey Denver! Runners, joggers, and walkers, this one’s for you! Join our DHS GIVE Center at Black Men Run Denver’s () 2026 Unity Run 5K on June 6, from 8–11 a.m. starting at Rude Rec Center (2855 W. Holden Pl). Our GIVE Center team will be onsite collecting new or gently used tennis shoes (all types welcome!) for our customers.

Want to join the run? 🏃 Waivers will be available at the event. Plus, enjoy vendors, shoe demos, and a great community vibe.
