🌟 Behind the Scenes: Energy Transition 🌟

Mark Seeley is ECMC’s Energy Transition Supervisor. His work focuses on developing regulations for emerging energy technologies that support Colorado's energy future.

His team is currently working on:

➡️ Geothermal Energy: Establishing regulations to support the state's net-zero goals. Geothermal technology taps into the natural heat found below Earth’s surface to provide heating, cooling and electricity.

➡️ Carbon Storage (Class VI Wells): Developing a state regulatory program for Class VI wells, which are used to store carbon dioxide deep underground.

The key part of this work is community engagement and ensuring that siting decisions consider local impacts, particularly in disproportionately impacted communities.
