A 1g target was hidden under the pitcher’s mound and left to sit for about 40 minutes. K9 Taiyo was walked in the opposite direction, giving the wind a chance to carry the scent toward her. If she caught the odor, the hope was she’d trust her training, break from her handler’s side, and head straight for source.

This little superstar nailed it. 🐾💙

There’s a clear moment where she picks up the scent — head lifts, body shifts — and she follows it with total confidence all the way to the mound, where she gives her indication like a pro.
